Wabi-Sabi is the appreciation of beauty in the imperfect and it is inherent in the entirety of Japanese culture. This tea seeks to pursue Wabi-Sabi through another concept Washoku. Which is the relentless Japanese pursuit of harmony through flavour and colour - 5 colours (Red, Black, White, Yellow and Green) and 5 Flavours (Sweet, Sour, Bitter, Salty and Umami). When you open this tea you will see playful colours, yet no red - and when you taste it, you will discover a breadth of flavour, yet no salt. It will have you reaching for another cup, yet leave you wondering why.
We recommend pairing this tea with a brush up on Zen philosophy and bowl of cold Soba.
This tea has a richly mellow palette that's striking but not obvious. Earthy yet vibrant. Complex and refined.
